AMG
Hosts Contractor Meet & Greet
Sept 7,
2006 ~ In the past two years Barstow
has begun to experience a very large growth factor. And while many
people saw this coming, in many ways we found ourselves ill-equipped
to deal with the demand for services that growth inevitably creates.
As a large property management company, Alliance Management Group (AMG)
found themselves competing for services against new construction and
the large number of remodels and upgrades.
While AMG has a very loyal contractor
base, we recognized that if we were being challenged in this area
others may be as well. In August, AMG ran an ad in the Daily Press
simply stating that licensed contractors of all trades were needed in
the Barstow area and if they were interested to respond to our
office. In the 30 days that AMG ran the ad we received an
overwhelming response from contractors in the Victorville, Apple
Valley and Hesperia area, all willing to come to Barstow and work
alongside our local contractors.
Thursday evening, September 7th,
at the Holiday Inn Express, AMG and
First American Title
hosted a “Contractor & Developers Meet and Greet”. The purpose of the
get-together was to introduce contractors from outside the Barstow
area to our local contractor base and senior staff members of the city
of Barstow. Thirty-five people came to swap business
cards and share
information and experiences. Ron Rector,
Economic Director for the City of Barstow, and Janette Hayhurst,
Director of Housing for the City of Barstow, attended as well as
contractors representing most trades including Top Notch Networking, a
computer specialty company, and local Realtors involved with the large
number of new construction projects in Barstow.
First American Title’s Ray Acha
as well as Cindy Spencer, the
Area Manager for First American Home Buyers Protection Corp., were our
co-hosts and provided a beautiful table of food and drink that made
the occasion very productive as everyone moved from table to table
throughout the evening talking and sharing information. Many of us
were able to offer our suggestions to Cindy Spencer as to what we as
managers and business owners want to see in a Home Protection
Company. Cindy was very open and listened to the concerns and
suggestions in anticipation of bringing her program to the Barstow
area.
Alliance Management Group would like to
thank First American Title, Ray Acha and the City of Barstow for
coming together in this project for the betterment of our entire
community as well as our company. We look forward in working with all
of these contractors in the future in our endless quest to maintain
and improve our client’s assets.
